“Toy Story 4” has a friend in the box office. The Disney Pixar sequel took home another $17 million in Friday ticket sales, leading to a decisive victory over weekend openers “Annabelle Comes Home” and “Yesterday.”

After collecting $118 million in its inaugural weekend and topping more than $167 million in its first six days, “Toy Story 4” continues to dominate at the domestic box office, heading toward an estimated $55.9 million second weekend – only slightly behind “Toy Story 3,” which took home about $59 million during its sophomore weekend.

Far behind “Toy Story” is New Line’s “Annabelle Comes Home,” which took home $6.6 million in Friday ticket sales for an estimated $19.2 million three-day finish and a $30 million six-day total (The film opened early on Wednesday). Jeremy Renner didn’t wait long to release a follow-up project to “Avengers: Endgame,” but most fans didn’t see this career twist coming. Renner, beloved around the world for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, dropped his new music single on June 28. Keanu Reeves was among the 19 Hollywood actors and filmmakers who signed their names to a statement condemning an attack by fascists on the Italian cinema group Piccolo America.

According to Italian media reports, the attack occurred in the Rome neighborhood of Trastevere during a June 16 outdoor screening of Paul Schrader’s film “First Reformed.” Four members of the group were attacked for wearing the film collective’s shirts, which the attackers were reported as believing were “anti-fascist.” Five men have been detained in connection to the assault, with at least one of them being connected to the youth wing of Italy’s neo-fascist political party CasaPound.

We’re only halfway through the year, but somehow we’ve reached the end of the 2019 Marvel movie release schedule. Yes, it’s true — “Spider-Man: Far From Home” is the last one. No more McU this year, no more “X-Men” movies, no more animated “Spider-Man” movies or live-action spinoffs. But it’s hard to be too mad, since the first half of the year has been full of riches, with four new movies to add to the decades-long pantheon of movies based on Mrvel Comics.

This past week, Disney’s remake of “Aladdin,” which stars Smith as the iconic Genie, passed the $817 million worldwide box office total that “Independence Day” earned in 1996. After six weekends in theaters, “Aladdin” now has a worldwide total of $874 million, standing only behind “Avengers: Endgame” and “Captain Marvel” on the 2019 charts.

On Twitter, Bautista responded to a tweet suggesting that Cena and Dwayne Johnson might star in a “Fast & Furious” spinoff together in the future. After all, Johnson will get such a spinoff later this summer with “Hobbs and Shaw,” while Cena has just starting shooting on “Fast & Furious 9,” which will come out in 2020.

“Spider-Man: Far From Home” collected a huge $111 million this weekend when it launched in China, Japan and Hong Kong. Most of that haul came from China, where the superhero tentpole earned $98 million, marking the fourth-best start for a comic-book adventure behind “Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Venom.” In Japan, the “Spider-Man” sequel made $9.4 million, representing the second-biggest launch for a superhero movie in that territory. Hong Kong saw a $3.8 million opening weekend.

“Spider-Man: Far From Home,” the followup to “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” bows across the globe in almost all markets next weekend. The movie picks up after the events of “Avengers: Endgame” and follows Peter Parker, who is on a school trip to Europe. While abroad, he gets recruited by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) to face threats from an alternate dimension.

Before its release in U.S. theaters on Tuesday, Sony/Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Far From Home” rolled out in China, Japan and Hong Kong this weekend and got off to a flying start, earning $111 million from the Asian markets.

Of that total, $98 million came from China, making “Far From Home” the seventh-highest Hollywood import opening in the country and the second-highest ever for Sony behind the $111 million earned last fall by “Venom.” $10.8 million of that total came from 620 IMAX screens, scoring the largest opening earned in China by a “Spider-Man” film in the format.
